About Chris · Raskelf & online
Still loud,still listening.
Toured the world, recorded at Abbey Road and NRG — now teaching, patiently and properly, from a little studio in North Yorkshire. First lesson's a chat, not a sales pitch.

Where it started

— the Raskelf studio
I'm Chris Hall — a professional guitarist, songwriter, and tutor based in Raskelf, North Yorkshire. Studied at BIMM in partnership with the University of Sussex, and have spent twenty-five years with a guitar in hand — fifteen of them in the industry, far more often on than off.
That time on the road and in the studio saw me contribute to a UK Top 10 album, cut records at Abbey Road in London and NRG in Los Angeles, and play stages from Reading & Leeds to South by Southwest. Tour support for The Kooks. Several of those years were spent on the road with indie-pop band Fickle Friends.
“Same instrument, different stage. The goal's always been to make playing feel like the most natural thing in the world.”
Now I teach. Based out of my home studio in Raskelf, and online anywhere with a decent webcam. Lessons are tailored, patient, and fun — the kind of lessons I wish I'd had at eleven, and the kind that got my students from zero to open-mic in a year.

What a lesson feels like
Every student is different, and so is every lesson. I teach to your goals, your pace, and the music you love — songs you want to play, theory you want to finally get, technique that holds up under gig pressure.
Whether you're picking the instrument up for the first time or chasing the last 2% of professional polish, we'll build a plan that works for you. First lesson's a chat, no hard sell.
Come andplay.
First lesson's a chat. We'll figure out what you want to play, and how to get you there.
